Hi, I know that this is off topic, but I received a wall message that is obviously some kind of fishing scam for (dare I say it) pornography. How can I report this... It looks like other members have been hit too.

Tonight Erica came in my room and said, "I don't feel well. I think I have a science headache."

Just a quick entry as I'm SO far behind on email that I've been on the computer too long already. We are still patiently waiting for our house to be done. I never dreamed what a drug out nightmare homebuilding/remodeling could be. We have the upstairs almost finished painting. The cupboards are here, have been for 2 weeks, but no carpenters have been coming to work. The plumber/electrician/hvac guys have been pretty steady, though, and the geothermal is all dug - albeit in the MUD, which made a…

I had/have a cold, and it is REALLY getting stuck up in my sinus cavity, up BEHIND my eyes, so that it hurts at my brow, do you know that nagging dull throb that I mean? It is horrible, I can sort of breath, but not with much vigor, and always is this FULL feeling in my head, like at ANY moment all my teeth will POP out because the ooze of buggers is just growing and infesting my secret spots…

Today, while talking in a chat room with Karen, she gave me the idea for this column. You see, Karen was having a bad day. It was the first day back to "school" with her boys and things were not going according to plan. The children were fighting, not really wanting to do their work, and Karen was having a difficult time dealing with it all. She ventured into a homeschool chat room hoping to get some help for her struggles.
My advice to Karen was to yell at her children to "KNOCKITOFF!"
Before…

Freedom From Fear
Terri Camp
Home school author and mother
I'm really glad confidence is not a prerequisite when setting out on the new journey of home schooling. If it were, few families would take the plunge.
Almost everyone I have talked to began their home schooling journey wondering why God would call them to do something that terrified them so much. It didn't help that most of their relatives, friends, and fellow church members doubted they could pull it off. I'm sure we had relatives wh…

Hello! I'm a friend from Iowa. We are a veteran homeschool family, having hs since 1992 officially - though my first child was born in '87. My oldest 2 are out on their own doing... good :o) I am longing to be "home" with my 2 teenage girls who are patiently waiting out transition in bedrooms of their own at grandma's house while my 3 little boys, husband and I wait it out in the camper. Or not...

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; to the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. Psalm 30:11-12
Yesterday I went into mourning when I heard the election results. Was it a surprise? No. Did I think I'd be ready for it. Yes. Was it devastating anyway. YES For a while I was very upset and scared. But then I got to thinking...and to prayer.…

It is a time indeed to praise the Lord God of Heaven and of Earth! I grow weary when people tell me how the Old Testament of the Bible is SOOO irrelevant to today.... have you read it???
When the Israelites looked around at all the other nations they sooo wanted to be just like them, they too wanted a king, and they whined and whimpered and God gave them a king.....when He was our KING…

I posted a song to the music player on my page. It is mislabled as "Be Thou My Vision". Does anyone really know what the name of it is? I think it has something to do with the Civil War. Either an actual Civil War tune or perhaps some music from a Civil War movie.
Please have a listen. If you can identify the song I would be so thrilled!
Thank you!
Nov. 7 My friend Dorothy identified the song as Ashokan Farewell. Thanks Dorothy!

Our Becca is learning how to walk with God.
This morning she offered to fix her sister's breakfast of cereal. She chose to give her sister her own special dish, cup and spoon. I heard her in the kitchen and told her that she was being considerate. She didn't know what it meant, so we looked it up on-line.
showing kindly awareness or regard for another's feelings, circumstances, etc.: a very considerate critic.
I asked her why she was being so considerate and she told me that Jesus want…

I love to knit. Of course, now I love to blog. I haven't knitted in two days but that's okay. I finished a wedding present and don't really know what to cast on next anyway. The above photo is of the cloths I made for the bride and groom.
Maybe now's the time to do a turkey or a C…

It was somewhere around the turn of the century. No, not THAT century, this last one..you know, Y2K and all that? Dh and I had just bought a new computer, he was working the night shift and the baby was asleep. I went looking for a party of Christians to chat with at Crosswalk.com. I wanted to see if Y2K would crash the party. It didn't.
I did get to meet some good people. Solid Christians. Homeschool mamas. Terri Camp. Yup, Ta-Dah Terri.
Fast forward...my 2yo is now ten and has a 3yo sister.…

Struggles, struggles, struggles! Forever I am struggling with the same unimportant issues. How should I fix my hair? How much makeup is ?acceptable?? Do I have to wear dresses?
Some of my friends say it is wrong for a woman to cut her hair. Other friends tell me it is wrong for a woman to braid her hair. Other friends say a woman must cover her hair. I know people who believe women should d…

Tah Dah!
My three year old's favorite dress-up phrase. She puts on a costume, maybe a funny hat and twirls. Tah dah!
It's a surprise. It's a joy. It's a "Look what I did!" moment.
So I, too, have a Tah Dah! moment. Look what I did..I started a blog. And I'm continuing it. I'm surprising myself.
Oh, I enjoy reading blogs. I have several favorites. I've thought about starting one of my own...maybe on homeschool blogger or something. I never felt that I could do it. I didn't think there was anyt…

I identify with that. Joyfulnspirit. The Lord gave me that name to use on the Internet. Philippians 4:4 tells us to rejoice in the Lord, Always. Then it tells us again. Rejoice!
My favorite Bible verses are Philippians 4:4-7. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Phl 4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Phl 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Phl 4:7 An…

Traffic can do strange things to a person, traffic in the rain, is even more dangerous. It can draw out of you sin you didn't even KNOW still lurked with in you. I have personal experience to back up this modern phenomena. This drawing out of sin, it happened to me this past Friday. Strange things happened after I sat in traffic for 30 minutes and didn't even get 2 miles, but when I passe…
